RAK Ports And Jianhua Holdings Group Collaborate On AED 120 Million PHC Piles Facility In Ras Al Khaimah

RAK Ports and Jianhua Holdings Group have announced the next phase of their strategic partnership, marking Jianhua's official entry into the UAE market. This follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September 2024. The collaboration will see the construction of the region's first Prestressed High Strength Concrete (PHC) Piles Factory at RAK Maritime City Free Zone.

The agreement was witnessed by H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. He stated that this partnership strengthens ties between Ras Al Khaimah and Chinese provinces, enhancing the emirate’s status as a leading industrial hub. "We continue to advance Ras Al Khaimah’s development journey through strategic partnerships that create new opportunities, promote knowledge exchange, and drive sustainable industrial growth for mutual benefit," he said.

This project is a significant step in Ras Al Khaimah’s industrial growth strategy. Supported by RAK Ports’ greenfield port development, it aims to boost the Emirate’s export capabilities for heavy industrial products. The new facility will use Saqr 2.0’s deep-water berths and integrated logistics to serve regional and international markets efficiently.

Jianhua's manufacturing plant will focus on producing large-diameter prestressed concrete piles in partnership with PHC Technologies. This addresses the growing demand for sustainable foundation solutions across the GCC and beyond. The AED120 million investment is expected to create up to 500 jobs in Ras Al Khaimah and generate over AED20 million in annual port revenues.

The factory will occupy 540,000 square feet of Freezone land, sourcing up to 1 million metric tonnes of raw materials from nearby quarries and cement complexes. Ras Al Khaimah's ecosystem of concrete, cement, and limestone quarries, along with its strategic ports, makes it an ideal hub for precast materials.

This collaboration further solidifies Ras Al Khaimah's position as a preferred destination for advanced manufacturing and sustainable infrastructure development. The initial MoU with Jianhua Holdings Group originated from discussions between Ras Al Khaimah's government and Guangdong Province, culminating in a partnership agreement signed in November 2024.

Expanding Bilateral Relations

The partnership has been mutually beneficial across various sectors such as education, transport, aviation, and cultural exchange. H.H. Sheikh Saud noted that this agreement marks a new chapter in relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Guangdong Province. It follows last year’s memorandum covering key sectors like transport, education, research, healthcare, arts, culture, and industry.

The collaboration exemplifies the integration of Chinese expertise with the UAE’s advanced industrial ecosystem. It aligns with national development ambitions by expanding cooperation scope and opening new horizons for joint development and investment.

This landmark project represents a key milestone in strengthening economic ties between the regions involved while promoting sustainable growth through innovative industrial solutions.
