Rabdan Academy Launches First Inclusivity In Safety Conference To Enhance Community Emergency Response
Rabdan Academy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, has announced the inaugural "Inclusivity in Safety" Conference. Scheduled for 16 June 2025, this event will be held at the Academy’s Abu Dhabi campus and will offer both in-person and virtual attendance options. The conference aligns with the UAE's Year of Community 2025, aiming to foster inclusive social frameworks and enhance national emergency response readiness.
The conference will address several key themes. These include the role of first responders in aiding People of Determination (POD) during emergencies, advanced technological solutions, and policing practices that promote community safety. It will also cover international experiences from law enforcement agencies, case studies on integrating PODs into public safety systems, and victim rights during emergency responses.

Salem Al Saeedi, Vice President of Rabdan Academy, stated that the conference is a strategic milestone reflecting the Academy’s commitment to developing realistic solutions for societal inclusion in national response frameworks. "Our joint work with the Ministry of Interior strengthens our ability to build a safer and more prepared environment, especially amid rising challenges," Al Saeedi said.
The event will showcase smart technological innovations like artificial intelligence and geolocation systems. These tools support police officers and caregivers by providing safer services for PODs under exceptional circumstances. Assistive communication devices will also be highlighted as part of these innovations.
Lt. Colonel Dana Humaid Al Marzouqi from the Ministry of Interior emphasised that inclusivity in safety is central to their approach for sustainable community response. The conference aims to highlight critical roles PODs can play within national preparedness systems and promote equitable environments during emergencies.
The conference will feature experts from the Secure Communities Forum, a leading platform for inclusive community safety advancement. These experts will share advanced perspectives and successful international experiences through panels and workshops, enriching both theoretical and practical content.
Building a Resilient Society
This event gathers global experts in safety alongside senior police figures and representatives from POD care organisations. It serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing comprehensive community preparedness developments. The conference supports government efforts to design data-driven policies based on practical insights responding to diverse human needs.
The initiative aims to unify efforts across government, security, and academic sectors to build an innovative response system anchored in inclusivity. This reinforces the UAE’s leadership in regional and global community preparedness while demonstrating its commitment to building a safe society.
This conference marks a pivotal step in enhancing the UAE’s emergency resilience and public safety institutions. It underscores the country's dedication to creating an inclusive society by integrating strategic partnerships and public awareness into its policies.
