Egypt's Qme Obtains $3 Million Seed Funding Led By AHOY To Enhance AI-Driven Customer Experiences In MENA

An innovative Egyptian B2B SaaS startup, Qme, has secured a seed funding round amounting to $3 million. This financial injection was led by the multi-sector technology firm AHOY, with additional contributions from a consortium of angel investors based in the GCC. Qme stands out with its AI-driven platform designed to overhaul the traditional and inefficient queuing and appointment booking methods prevalent in the MENA region.

AHOY, known for its forward-thinking solutions across logistics, aviation, and traffic management sectors, has emerged as a regional tech leader with aspirations of becoming a decacorn. This partnership grants Qme access to AHOY's extensive technological expertise and deep market understanding, poised to transform customer experiences significantly.

Qme Secures Funding for AI Customer Solutions

Maged Negm, CEO and Co-Founder of Qme, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the strategic advantage of having AHOY's CEO, Jamil Shinawi, on the Qme Advisors Committee. Negm underscored the partnership's role in enhancing operational capabilities in dynamic environments.

Since its market entry in Q4 2023, Qme has demonstrated impressive performance by servicing over 100,000 customers across various sectors, notably healthcare, banking, and government. The platform has dramatically reduced average waiting times from 116 minutes to a mere 14 minutes and brought down no-show rates for phone bookings to below 1%. Furthermore, by transitioning from paper-based to digital queuing systems, Qme has saved around 50,000 square meters of paper, showcasing its commitment to efficiency and sustainability.

Jamil Shinawi, CEO and Co-Founder of AHOY, praised Qme's platform for its seamless integration with AHOY's mission to address real-world inefficiencies through innovative solutions. He emphasized the synergy between both companies' goals, particularly in enhancing customer journeys and tackling market challenges in the GCC and African regions. This collaboration is set to expedite Qme's market penetration and global expansion efforts.

Qme's inclusion in AHOY's Startup Builder Initiative further cements the strategic relationship between the two entities. This program aims to nurture entrepreneurship and software development in the MENA region, with a target to empower 10,000 entrepreneurs and support 30,000 software developers by 2030. It underscores a shared vision for fostering innovation and growth across critical sectors such as transportation, aviation, and smart city development.

The recent funding round will enable Qme to refine its technology, broaden its operational footprint, and establish more robust partnerships. In unison with AHOY, Qme is set on a trajectory to revolutionize business and government interactions with consumers. This collaboration marks a significant step towards eliminating operational inefficiencies, promising a future where streamlined processes are the norm.
