PureHealth And SEHA Collaborate With Cincinnati Children’s To Elevate Paediatric Care In Abu Dhabi

PureHealth and its subsidiary SEHA have joined forces with Cincinnati Children’s, the top US children’s hospital, through SEHA Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC). This collaboration aims to bring exceptional paediatric expertise to Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The partnership signifies a significant step towards enhancing clinical services, research, and medical training, aligning with their vision to position Abu Dhabi as a leader in advanced paediatric healthcare.

In a ceremony attended by key figures such as Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), and Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of DoH – Abu Dhabi, the agreement was formalised. Saeed Al Kuwaiti, CEO of SEHA, and Oliver Rhine, Chief Strategy Officer of Cincinnati Children’s signed the agreement. This partnership is set to embed international best practices across various paediatric specialities.

Enhancing Paediatric Care in Abu Dhabi

The collaboration focuses on integrating global expertise from Cincinnati Children’s with SEHA SKMC’s established clinical foundation. This synergy aims to elevate care standards while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Key areas include Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, and Transplant Medicine. The initiative is part of PureHealth and SEHA's broader goal to make Abu Dhabi a global benchmark for healthcare excellence.

Mansoor Al Mansoori stated that under the guidance of wise leadership, Abu Dhabi is dedicated to offering specialised healthcare facilities that provide world-class services. "This is achieved by strengthening cooperative frameworks with major healthcare institutions worldwide," he added. The partnership not only enhances local expertise but also reduces dependency on overseas treatment.

The newly established Paediatric Centre of Excellence at SEHA SKMC is already making strides in delivering top-tier specialised care within Abu Dhabi. This reduces the necessity for patients to travel abroad for treatment. The centre plays a crucial role in providing advanced care across the UAE and the Middle East.

Shaista Asif expressed that this collaboration places Abu Dhabi at the forefront of paediatric healthcare in the region. "By leveraging the expertise of both institutions, we aim to strengthen the region's position as a global leader in pediatric medicine," she said. The focus is on driving innovation and achieving outstanding outcomes for children and families.

Innovative Healthcare Models

The partnership extends beyond individual cases by reshaping care models and developing integrated patient pathways. It also pilots innovative protocols designed for lasting system-wide impact. Together, both teams are advancing paediatric care through a globally aligned model focused on comprehensive patient-centred outcomes.

Steve Davis MD, President and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s remarked on their excitement about opportunities with SEHA Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. "We share their vision of helping to create a world-class Paediatric Centre of Excellence here in Abu Dhabi that will benefit the children of the United Arab Emirates," he said.

This initiative underscores PureHealth and SEHA's ambition to establish Abu Dhabi as a reference point for healthcare excellence globally. By focusing on cutting-edge paediatrics in the Middle East, they aim to place Abu Dhabi at the forefront of advanced medical care.
