PureHealth Celebrates Emergency Room Heroes For Their Vital Contributions To Abu Dhabi Healthcare
PureHealth recently celebrated the dedication of emergency room (ER) professionals within its SEHA hospital network in Abu Dhabi. The event, held at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, was attended by Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH, and Shaista Asif, Group CEO of PureHealth, alongside other senior leaders. This gathering honoured 100 ER physicians, nurses, and support staff for their critical role in providing urgent care under challenging conditions.
Dr Salama Bin Rafeea from the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre expressed pride in these medical professionals. "We are immensely proud of the medical professionals working in emergency departments, the frontline heroes of our healthcare system who play an essential role in emergency response and saving lives," she stated. Her comments highlighted the Department of Health's commitment to building a predictive and preventive healthcare system.

The event featured awards for ER Heroes of the Year, recognising 12 individuals for their exceptional contributions to emergency care. These awards underscored PureHealth's dedication to valuing frontline excellence across its network. Participants also received personalised tokens and recognition bonuses as part of this celebration.
One notable recognition went to an ER professional who identified an undiagnosed brain lesion in a patient after a car accident. This timely diagnosis altered the patient's treatment path and facilitated a full recovery. Another team member was acknowledged for providing continuous care to a young trauma patient in critical condition, staying by their side throughout recovery.
Mohammed Hassan Al Zaabi from PureHealth emphasised the importance of ER professionals. "Our ER professionals are the frontline guardians of health – responding with courage, speed and compassion in critical moments when every second matters," he remarked. This tribute reflects PureHealth's gratitude and commitment to supporting those who deliver exceptional care.
The event highlighted PureHealth's strategy to enhance patient experiences and invest in healthcare talent. By celebrating excellence at every level, they aim to foster a culture that elevates care standards not only in Abu Dhabi but beyond.
The Unified Medical Operations Command Centre (UMOC) plays a crucial role in coordinating with emergency teams even before patients reach hospitals. This ensures readiness and enhances community health safety, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a leader in health preparedness.
The dedication shown by these ER professionals often makes the difference between life and loss. Their actions exemplify courage and commitment within the healthcare sector, vital for maintaining Abu Dhabi’s thriving healthcare system.
