UAE Aviation Careers Take Centre Stage At Promising Future Career Fair, 27 Entities Spotlight

The "Promising Future" Career Fair in Civil Aviation opens its first day at the Etihad Museum in Dubai, organised by the General Civil Aviation Authority. The event brings together 27 participating organisations from across the aviation ecosystem, and more than 13,000 registered students and job seekers are expected to attend across the two-day programme.

The fair focuses on direct contact between young national talent and employers in government authorities, airlines, manufacturers, airports, and specialised academic institutions. Organisers state that this level of participation helps align training and recruitment plans with labour market needs in the UAE civil aviation sector over the coming years.

Commenting on the first day, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, said, "We are delighted by this remarkable turnout, which reflects the success of this initiative and the keen interest of the next generation in the opportunities offered by the UAE’s aviation sector. We also highly appreciate the positive response, engagement, and active participation of our partners in the aviation sector, which played a key role in the success of this initiative and in reinforcing the concept of integrated collaboration among the sector’s various entities."

Al Suwaidi noted that civil aviation remains a key pillar of the national economy, generating nearly one million direct and indirect jobs and contributing around 18% of the country’s GDP. Al Suwaidi added that the industry is also a centre for innovation and advanced technology, and a magnet for specialised skills and global aviation expertise.

Al Suwaidi emphasised that the sector is entering a period of major change driven by automation, artificial intelligence, sustainable aviation solutions, and advanced air mobility. According to Al Suwaidi, gathering training providers and employers in one fair helps identify future capability gaps, understand long-term manpower requirements, and give students a clearer view of the skills in demand.

During the opening day of the "Promising Future" Career Fair, the GCAA unveiled the AeroPioneers Research Award, designed to honour outstanding student research in civil aviation. The award targets work that enhances aviation safety and security, and that supports the evolution of future aviation systems in line with national and international strategic priorities.

The AeroPioneers Research Award also aims to promote research that offers practical benefits to the GCAA. Priority areas include regulation development, process improvement, and evidence-based decision-making. The initiative encourages studies that add to aviation knowledge while supporting continuous improvements in safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory frameworks across the sector.

Across the two days, the "Promising Future" Career Fair programme includes 20 career talk sessions delivered by airlines, airports, and national aviation entities. These sessions highlight job paths, required qualifications, and real-life success stories. The first day’s agenda features contributions from Abu Dhabi Airports, Etihad Airways, SANAD, Airbus, Dubai Air Navigation Services, gulf aircraft & engineering services, and the "Love Your Sky" campaign.

The Career Fair is supported by several strategic partners, reflected in its sponsorship structure. Platinum Sponsors are Abu Dhabi Airports and Etihad Aviation Group, SANAD serves as Gold Sponsor, and Airbus is listed as Silver Sponsor. Their involvement underlines joint efforts to guide students and graduates towards aviation-related careers within the UAE.
