Presight Opens Its Inaugural Regional Office In Astana To Support AI Development
Presight, a prominent UAE-based company specialising in big data analytics and artificial intelligence, has launched its first regional office in Astana, Kazakhstan. This move coincides with the official visit of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to Kazakhstan. The opening was attended by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of Presight.
The new office is strategically located at the Astana International Financial Centre. It marks Presight's initial expansion beyond the UAE and will serve as a central hub for Central Asia. This development underscores the UAE's commitment to supporting AI initiatives and digital transformation projects in Kazakhstan.
Presight's operations in Kazakhstan are growing rapidly, with over 40 Kazakh employees currently working at the Astana office. This reflects the company's dedication to nurturing local talent and contributing to Kazakhstan's digital transformation efforts. The office aims to enhance service delivery for in-country projects.
A key project under Presight's umbrella is the Alem.AI National Centre for Artificial Intelligence, which stands as Central Asia's first large-scale AI hub. Within this framework, Presight plans to establish an AI Command and Control Centre at Alem.AI. This centre will act as the core of Astana’s smart infrastructure, facilitating intelligent monitoring and decision-making across various urban systems.
The smart city initiative in Astana aims to bolster Kazakhstan’s status as a regional leader in AI. It will also set a global benchmark for digital enablement. The project focuses on enhancing public safety, real-time infrastructure management, sustainable energy use, and responsive city services.
Significantly, 60 percent of this project involves Kazakh suppliers, highlighting a strong commitment to local engagement and economic growth within Kazakhstan. This approach not only supports local businesses but also strengthens the country's position in the global digital landscape.
