Presight Collaborates With Colombia's Ministry Of Science To Advance Joint Research In AI And Big Data

Presight, a prominent big data analytics firm in the region, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Colombia's Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. This agreement is designed to enhance collaboration between the two parties, focusing on joint research and technological innovation. The MoU was signed in Abu Dhabi by Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, and Ángela Yesenia Olaya Requene, Colombia's Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation.

The partnership aims to boost research and development efforts in areas like artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, smart cities, energy, and climate. Both entities will work together on projects that align with their mutual interests. They plan to organise seminars and conferences to facilitate interaction among relevant institutions. Additionally, they will establish technology transfer mechanisms to accelerate AI and Big Data advancements.

Presight Partners with Colombia for AI Research

One key aspect of the MoU is the focus on adopting emerging technologies to support strategic sectors. This includes improving operational efficiency in smart cities and enhancing energy transition efforts. The collaboration seeks to strengthen the bioeconomy as well. By working together, both parties aim to leverage technology for sustainable development.

Thomas Pramotedham expressed optimism about the potential impact of AI and Big Data in addressing global challenges. He highlighted Colombia's progress in developing smart cities, particularly in urban centres like Medellín and Bogotá. "There is great potential to leverage AI and Big Data to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems," he said.

Ángela Yesenia Olaya Requene emphasised the importance of this partnership for Colombia's technological advancement. She stated that the MoU strengthens ties with the United Arab Emirates while promoting AI development in Colombia. "We are very pleased with the signing of this MoU," she said.

The agreement positions Colombia as a hub for AI innovation in Latin America under principles of ethics and sustainability. It also focuses on efficient use of clean energy resources. Both parties are committed to fostering an environment conducive to technological growth.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations between Colombia and the UAE through shared technological goals. By working together on these initiatives, both countries aim to achieve substantial progress in their respective fields.
