President Erdoğan Awards Order Of The Republic To H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak For Humanitarian Efforts

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye has bestowed the Order of the Republic on H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. This honour recognises her significant contributions to women's empowerment, family, and childhood causes. Her humanitarian efforts have been acknowledged both regionally and internationally. The ceremony took place at Dolmabahçe Palace, attended by Emine Erdoğan and Sheikha Fatima's delegation.

The Order of the Republic is one of Türkiye's highest honours, awarded upon the Cabinet's recommendation. H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is the first woman to receive this prestigious award. Her initiatives in development and social projects have fostered cohesive societies, earning her international acclaim as the "Mother of the Nation."

President Erdoğan expressed his pleasure at Sheikha Fatima's visit to Türkiye, highlighting the strong ties between the UAE and Türkiye established by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He noted that these relations continue to flourish across various sectors. President Erdoğan praised Sheikha Fatima’s role in enhancing bilateral relations through her leadership in various organisations.

Sheikha Fatima’s efforts in family, motherhood, childhood, women, education, and health have left a lasting impact on UAE’s social and cultural development. These initiatives have gained recognition locally and internationally. President Erdoğan acknowledged her contributions to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Türkiye and the UAE.

The Turkish president highlighted the Sheikh Zayed Children’s Complex in Istanbul as a testament to successful humanitarian initiatives since the 1990s. This complex has significantly supported vulnerable children, reinforcing emotional bonds between Turkish and Emirati people. President Erdoğan expressed his delight in presenting the Order of the Republic to Sheikha Fatima for her exceptional contributions.

In response, H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak thanked President Erdoğan for this honour, emphasising that it reflects deep relations based on mutual respect and cooperation between both nations. She noted that under President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision, relations are rapidly growing, benefiting both countries' peoples and contributing to regional stability.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima stated: "I extend my heartfelt thanks to President Erdoğan for this prestigious honour, which I consider an award for every woman contributing to building her nation." Her words reflect a commitment to promoting values of giving and solidarity for a prosperous future globally.

The award ceremony was attended by Sheikha Fatima's delegation. The Order of the Republic holds significant diplomatic importance in Türkiye and has been awarded to only nine prominent figures worldwide so far.
