UAE Prime Minister’s Office Signs Key Agreements To Boost Strategic Intelligence For We The UAE 2031 Vision

The UAE Prime Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs has formalised agreements with the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) and TRENDS Research and Advisory. These memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aim to enhance strategic intelligence tools for the UAE Government, aligning with the "We the UAE 2031" vision. The agreements were signed during the Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils 2024 (AMGFC24) in Dubai.

The AMGFC24 event brought together 500 officials, experts, and academics from 80 countries. The MoUs are intended to allow partners to utilise the "We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence" platform, which was unveiled at AMGFC24. This platform introduces a novel approach to government strategy and policy design, supported by AI and informed by over 2,500 international experts and more than 450 sources.

UAE PMO Enhances Strategic Intelligence Tools

The agreement with UICCA emphasises environmental sustainability within We the UAE 2031. It seeks to promote best practice exchanges, empower local talents, and encourage participation in global sustainable development initiatives. This aligns with both We the UAE 2031 and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative. Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of UICCA, signed this agreement alongside Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs.

Sheikha Shamma stated: "This partnership reinforces the essential role played by the UICCA in achieving the country’s strategic sustainability and climate goals." She further mentioned that their contribution aims to foster innovative climate solutions while supporting efforts towards net zero by 2050. She emphasised that climate action is a collective responsibility.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the UAE Prime Minister’s Office during AMGFC24. He noted that TRENDS leverages research, expert insights, training programs, and opinion polls to assist specialists and organisations in reaching their objectives through scientific data.

Dr. Al-Ali highlighted that this agreement will enable TRENDS to support We the UAE 2031 by providing research on various strategic issues. He added: "TRENDS is keen to enhance the capabilities of young Emirati researchers as they are the builders and leaders of the future."

Global Dialogue Integration

Stephan Mergenthaler from the World Economic Forum remarked: "This partnership reflects our commitment to incorporating important regional perspectives into global dialogue." By integrating insights from leading UAE think tanks into their Strategic Intelligence platform, they aim to enrich understanding of critical trends.

In addition to launching We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence platform at AMGFC24, eight UAE Strategic Intelligence Councils were established in collaboration with Global Future Councils. These councils will bring together government leaders, experts from Global Future Councils' network, and business leaders to achieve We the UAE 2031 goals.
