Saudi Arabia's PIF Secures $7 Billion Murabaha Credit Facility For Investments

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has secured a Murabaha credit facility worth $7 billion, marking a significant step in its strategy for medium-term capital acquisition. This move is supported by a consortium of 20 international and regional banks, showcasing a robust level of confidence and partnership with various financial institutions across the globe.

Highlighting a strong financial foundation, PIF's recent financial strategy complements the successful Sukuk issuances it has executed over the past two years. This approach not only reinforces PIF's solid financial stance but also signifies its adherence to best practices in debt financing. Such financial endeavors are instrumental in bolstering PIF's position as a leading investment entity on a global scale.

Fahad AlSaif, leading the Global Capital Finance Division and the Investment Strategy and Economic Insights Division at PIF, remarked, "This inaugural murabaha credit facility demonstrates the flexibility and depth of PIF's financing strategy and use of diversified funding sources, as we continue to drive transformative investments, globally and in Saudi Arabia."

PIF maintains an impressive credit rating, with Moody’s rating it at Aa3 and Fitch at A+, both with a stable outlook. These ratings reflect the fund's robust financial health and prospects. PIF's financial strategies are underpinned by various sources of funding, including capital injections and asset transfers from the government, retained earnings from its diverse investments, and the strategic use of loans and debt instruments.
