UAE's Phoenix Group Expands Global Reach With 80MW Ethiopian PPA For Bitcoin Mining
UAE's tech conglomerate Phoenix Group PLC announced its pivotal move to extend its influence within the African continent through securing an 80-megawatt power purchase agreement in Ethiopia.
This critical development, achieved in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi-based cybersecurity entity Data7, is a cornerstone in Phoenix Group's strategy to diversify globally. With the Ethiopian site expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2025, the company's mining portfolio's exahash rate is set to surge, underlining Phoenix Group's commitment to scaling its operations and delivering top-tier digital asset infrastructure across the globe. The company's strategic vision includes further expansion in Ethiopia and venturing into the South American market by 2025, showcasing its ambitions for a broader global footprint.
