UAE Launches Philanthropic Campaign To Support Lebanese People Amid Ongoing Crisis

The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council has initiated a campaign in the UAE to support Lebanon. This effort, part of the 'UAE stands with Lebanon' initiative, will run from 8th to 21st October. The campaign aims to engage the community, including businesses and institutions, in providing aid during Lebanon's ongoing crisis.

Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and overseen by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has launched this campaign. It seeks to raise awareness about the urgent need for relief in Lebanon.

H.H. Sheikh Theyab highlighted the UAE's unwavering support for nations facing conflicts and disasters. He stated, "This approach of the UAE is a part and parcel of its civilisational and humane vision for a safe and stable world." The UAE collaborates closely with international organisations to provide necessary aid.

The UAE community consistently leads in offering assistance during crises. H.H. Sheikh Theyab noted that both individuals and businesses actively participate in social responsibility efforts, reflecting the nation's humanitarian values.

The campaign underscores the deep bonds between the UAE and Lebanon. H.H. Sheikh Theyab mentioned that it demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to supporting Lebanon through cooperative efforts aimed at alleviating suffering and addressing urgent needs.

A few days ago, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan approved a US$100 million relief package for Lebanon. Recently, six planes carrying 205 tons of medical supplies, food, relief materials, and shelter equipment were sent from the UAE.

Collaborative Efforts with Global Partners

This aid delivery was coordinated with international partners like WHO, UNICEF, UNHCR, and IFRC. These collaborations ensure that relief reaches those most affected by Lebanon's crisis efficiently.

The campaign reflects the UAE’s dedication to humanitarian causes worldwide. It embodies principles of compassion and solidarity that define the nation’s approach to global challenges.
