Pakistan's Exports Through UAE Increased To USD 380 Million, Highlights Ambassador Tirmizi

Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, highlighted a significant increase in Pakistan's exports via the UAE. Over the past year, these exports rose from US$280 million to US$380 million. This growth underscores the robust economic ties between the two nations. His remarks were made during the opening of Pakistan's stands at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, inaugurated by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

He emphasised that Pakistan's consistent participation in GITEX demonstrates its dedication to this international event. The country's involvement over many years highlights the evolving economic relations with the UAE across multiple sectors. This commitment is evident in various initiatives aimed at enhancing digital infrastructure and economic digitisation under their strategic partnership.

Pakistan's Exports to UAE Reach USD 380 Million

A high-level Pakistani delegation is currently collaborating with UAE authorities to explore opportunities in digital transformation and IT sectors. Ambassador Tirmizi expressed optimism about joint ventures in technology, noting that Pakistan's current tech exports are valued at around US$4 million annually. He believes that with skilled human resources and technical know-how, this figure could potentially reach US$100 million soon.

The ambassador pointed out that the UAE ranks as Pakistan’s third-largest export market after the United States and the United Kingdom. This year marks a record participation of over 1,000 Pakistani startups and companies at GITEX, reflecting unprecedented engagement from Pakistan in this global event.

Ambassador Tirmizi concluded by highlighting the historical foundations underpinning relations between Pakistan and the UAE. He expressed a desire for these ties to evolve into a model partnership that can serve as an example both regionally and globally. The ambition is to elevate bilateral cooperation to new heights.
