Pakistan Association Dubai Achieves Guinness World Record With Largest UAE Flag Made Of Handprints
Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records for creating the largest UAE flag using 24,514 handprints from individuals of over 100 nationalities. The announcement was made during a special ceremony at the Pakistan Auditorium, PAD. A Guinness World Records adjudicator verified and confirmed this achievement. Among the 250 attendees were Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, Consul General Hussain Muhammad, and representatives from both Pakistani and Emirati communities.
The initiative was a part of PAD's Hands of Unity campaign, which celebrated the UAE Year of Community. The campaign involved participation from 23 schools and universities, 39 activation sites, and thousands across the Emirates. Each handprint on the flag symbolised a tribute from the Pakistani diaspora to the UAE. This gesture highlighted the nation's commitment to tolerance and community engagement.
Faisal Niaz Tirmizi expressed admiration for the UAE's growth as a nation of tolerance and innovation. He stated, "The UAE has grown leaps and bounds over the years, becoming a beacon of tolerance and innovation." He praised PAD's initiative as a tribute to this spirit. The title was awarded to PAD, Emirates Loves, and artist Rubab Zahra, who envisioned this artwork.
Dr. Faisel Ikram, President of PAD, emphasised their dedication to social cohesion and community development. "This is our token of love and appreciation to the UAE – our second home," he said. He commended his team for their efforts in realising this vision. Dr. Ikram highlighted PAD's belief in unity and volunteering as powerful tools for community development.
The event included a video showcasing the Hands of Unity journey. It highlighted volunteer work, community drives, and collective spirit that powered this initiative. Certificates were given to schools, sponsors, and partners for their contributions to its success.
Community Efforts Recognised
Khalid Imtiaz, Joint Secretary of PAD, reflected on the campaign's rewarding journey. "This was a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey," he noted. He acknowledged how community energy drove every step of this campaign. Witnessing people unite for this cause was an honour for him.
The Hands of Unity project now stands as a testament to what communities can achieve together with shared goals. This legacy proudly originated in the UAE.
