Over 120 Students Celebrate Graduation From Samsung Innovation Campus 2024 In UAE

The National Program for Coders and Samsung Gulf Electronics have successfully concluded the 2024 Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) in the UAE. A graduation ceremony marked this achievement, celebrating over 120 students' accomplishments. These students, representing 26 different nationalities, received extensive training in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), focusing on Python programming and its applications.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud, a Director at the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, emphasised the importance of this initiative. He stated that the UAE's collaboration with global companies aligns with its vision to lead AI sectors. "By equipping our youth with world-class AI skills, we are fostering a new generation of forward-thinking problem solvers," he said. This effort supports the UAE's National Strategy for AI by nurturing technological pioneers.

The programme aimed to develop students' understanding of statistics and algorithms essential for AI and ML. Participants gained proficiency in Python fundamentals and specialised machine learning libraries. They also engaged in practical exercises involving real-world datasets, which prepared them for immediate contributions to the digital economy.

Doohee Lee, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, highlighted the significance of this year's graduates. "The graduation of this year's Samsung Innovation Campus class represents a significant achievement in our mission to foster the next generation of AI innovators," he remarked. The graduates' dedication to mastering AI principles equips them with vital skills needed for technological advancement.

Earlier this year, Samsung partnered with the UAE's Artificial Intelligence Office to integrate SIC into the UAE AI Camp 2024. This partnership aims to create a comprehensive learning experience by combining Samsung's global expertise with the UAE's vision for AI leadership. It supports ambitious initiatives like the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.

The top three students from SIC were recognised for their exceptional performance, each scoring above 95%. This recognition reflects Samsung's commitment to excellence and fostering talent capable of driving digital transformation in the UAE.

Future Prospects

This initiative is part of a broader effort to position the UAE as a global hub for AI innovation. By providing young talents with advanced education in AI, Samsung contributes significantly to developing a skilled workforce ready to tackle future challenges in technology.

The programme not only enhances individual capabilities but also aligns with national goals by preparing participants to become leaders in AI sectors worldwide. The comprehensive training ensures that graduates are well-equipped to make an impact immediately in this rapidly evolving field.
