Ajman Launches Innovative Oil And Grease Trap Waste Treatment Plant To Enhance Sustainability

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), in collaboration with Alserkal Group LLC, has launched the Envirol LLC Grease Trap Waste Receiving Plant in Al Jurf Industrial Area. This facility aims to collect waste from oil and grease traps, which are systems designed to separate these materials from sewage. The plant helps protect drainage systems from blockages and reduces negative environmental impacts.

The plant can handle up to 10,000 gallons of waste daily, with plans for future expansion to meet growing demand. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA, emphasized that this project is a crucial milestone in improving waste management in Ajman. He highlighted the MPDA's dedication to implementing innovative and sustainable solutions that enhance environmental cleanliness and life quality.

New Waste Treatment Plant Opens in Ajman

Eng. Khalid Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector at MPDA, explained that the plant uses smart technologies for collecting and transporting oily waste. These technologies help convert waste into valuable resources when treated at specialized state stations. The process results in products like treated water for agriculture, organic fertilizers, and bio-oils that support the green economy.

Ahmed Eisa Alserkal, Chairman of Alserkal Group, expressed pride in partnering with MPDA on this significant environmental initiative. He stated that the Envirol plant represents a qualitative leap in managing oil and grease trap waste. This partnership underscores both parties' commitment to achieving sustainability goals.

The new facility is a vital addition to Ajman's environmental infrastructure. It enhances public health and safety while reducing negative environmental impacts. The plant supports ongoing efforts to transform Ajman into a model of sustainable environmental development.

This project aligns with MPDA's vision of developing an integrated infrastructure supporting Ajman's sustainable development strategies. His Excellency noted that such initiatives reflect their commitment to fostering a clean environment and improving residents' quality of life.

The Envirol plant plays a significant role in advancing sustainability efforts within Ajman by providing an efficient solution for managing oil and grease trap waste. Its establishment marks progress towards creating a more sustainable future for the Emirate.
