Northern Waterfront Project Marks Significant Step In Strengthening UAE-Belarus Relations

The newly opened International Exhibition Centre in Minsk marks a significant milestone in Belarus-UAE relations. Supported by Emirati investment, this centre is part of the 'Northern Waterfront' project. It aims to enhance commercial and investment ties between the two nations, fostering constructive partnerships within their business communities.

Vladimir Kukharev, Mayor of Minsk, highlighted the centre's role as a key facility in the city. "The new centre is one of the city's most prominent facilities," he told the Emirates News Agency (WAM). It features cutting-edge technology and advanced architectural standards, enabling it to host diverse events. This development exemplifies investment and economic integration between Belarus and the UAE, paving the way for more collaborative projects that align with their strategic goals.

Northern Waterfront Enhances UAE-Belarus Ties

Belarus continues to strengthen its cooperation with the UAE through ongoing investments in development projects. Kukharev emphasised Belarus’ commitment to executing all agreed plans without hindrance under UAE initiatives. Minsk is dedicated to ensuring high efficiency and operation levels in all joint ventures.

The 'Northern Waterfront' project is progressing under a shared work plan with the UAE. This initiative includes sports, educational, cultural, and residential facilities that blend with Minsk's natural beauty. It also supports sustainable development goals by expanding cooperation opportunities in tourism and other sectors.

Dmitry Pantus, Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus, noted that the exhibition centre's opening and future smart economic city project highlight deep strategic cooperation between Belarus and the UAE. He stated that "the prospects for cooperation between the two nations are broad and promising."

The MILEX defence industries exhibition will be hosted at the centre from May 21 to 24. This event underscores Belarus’ position as a hub for economic and knowledge-based activities. The centre will further establish Minsk as a regional and global destination for major specialised events.

Diverse Areas of Collaboration

Bilateral relations have successfully established comprehensive partnerships across various fields. Emirati-Belarusian collaboration spans industry, culture, healthcare, and emerging economies. This represents an exceptional phase of active engagement between both countries.
