NIO Partners With CYVN Holdings To Advance Smart Electric Vehicle Innovation Across MENA Region

NIO, a prominent name in the smart electric vehicle (EV) industry, has joined forces with CYVN Holdings from Abu Dhabi. This partnership, witnessed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, aims to launch NIO MENA. This initiative marks NIO's entry into the Middle East and North Africa, focusing on sustainable development through advanced EV solutions.

With strategic investments from CYVN Holdings, NIO MENA plans to introduce its vehicle models and those of its subsidiary brands to the MENA region. The UAE is set as the initial market for this expansion. This move positions the region as a significant player in deploying advanced autonomous driving systems and battery-swapping technologies.

In addition to market entry, NIO and CYVN Holdings are establishing a research and development centre in Abu Dhabi. This facility will concentrate on advancements in autonomous driving and artificial intelligence. It aims to strengthen NIO’s global R&D capabilities while promoting technological innovation within the MENA region.

As part of their broader regional vision, NIO and CYVN Holdings plan to collaborate on a new electric vehicle project. This initiative involves research, manufacturing, and future product launches. It will see NIO MENA working with local partners in Egypt, enhancing Egypt’s role in the electric vehicle manufacturing landscape.

Jassem Mohamed Obaid Bu Ataba Alzaabi, Chairman of CYVN Holdings, expressed pride in supporting NIO's leadership in the EV sector. He stated that this partnership reflects their shared commitment to strengthening strategic collaborations and achieving transformative goals in smart mobility.

William Li, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of NIO, highlighted the collaboration with CYVN Holdings as crucial for enhancing global access to smart electric vehicles.
