NCM Predicts Light To Moderate Rainfall For Tuesday And Wednesday Across UAE
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts light to moderate rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will mainly affect the islands and some northern areas. On Wednesday, rain and cloud cover are expected to focus over the sea and far northern regions, occurring intermittently.
From late Saturday night to early Sunday morning, varying intensities of rain were observed. It started over the Arabian Gulf waters and islands, then spread to coastal areas including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, and Ras Al Khaimah. During the day, rain reached northern and eastern inland regions.

On Monday, satellite images and weather radar data showed a reduction in cloud cover across the country. Clouds were mainly over the sea, islands, and some northern and eastern areas. This led to a decrease in rainfall chances.
The NCM anticipates a significant wave of rainfall on Thursday and Friday. The effects will start in western regions before moving towards Abu Dhabi late Thursday night into early Friday morning. During Friday daytime, rain is expected to spread to northern regions, Al Ain, and eastern areas.
Cloud amounts are predicted to decrease during Friday evening and night. By Saturday, clouds will reduce significantly across the country with weakened rainfall chances. However, some low- and mid-level clouds may appear over far northern parts with limited rain possible.
Atmospheric Conditions
The period's atmospheric instability might lead to local cloud formations during daytime hours. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northeasterly before becoming northwesterly. They will be moderate to fresh but can become strong at times with convective clouds, causing dust and sand storms that reduce visibility.
The sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate but could become rough at times due to cloud activity in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
