UAE Launches National Programme To Empower Advocates For Women's And Girls' Rights Under Sheikha Fatima's Patronage

The National Programme for Qualifying Cadres in the Women's and Girls' Rights was launched under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. This initiative, organised by the General Women's Union (GWU) and the UAE's Permanent Committee for Human Rights, aims to equip participants with skills to advocate for women's and girls' rights. It also seeks to raise societal awareness on these crucial issues.

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak highlighted that human rights in the UAE are grounded in principles like tolerance, compassion, and peaceful coexistence. These values have been supported by leadership since the country's founding, following Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's vision. The UAE's leadership continues to focus on development goals while safeguarding human dignity as a core element of sustainable progress.

UAE Launches Women's and Girls' Rights Programme

The programme offers comprehensive training courses to enhance participants' understanding of women's and girls' rights. Organised by the GWU and the UAE's Permanent Committee for Human Rights, these courses aim to empower individuals to become ambassadors for these causes. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to recognise women's roles in shaping the UAE's future.

Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, stated that human rights in the UAE are built on Islamic principles and Emirati values. These are reinforced by constitutional texts and laws aligned with international standards, ensuring equality and justice without discrimination. The UAE prioritises women's rights protection, establishing itself as a leading model in empowering women across various fields.

Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of GWU, noted that since its inception, the UAE has prioritised human beings in its strategies and policies. The country has embraced values such as tolerance, justice, and equality while developing policies to protect individual rights within society. This approach has made the UAE a unique model for human development.

Dr. Gargash expressed gratitude towards H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for her unwavering support in empowering women through initiatives like this programme. He acknowledged her efforts in launching programmes that meet women's needs while safeguarding their rights and interests.

Sheikha Fatima remarked that this programme continues the UAE’s efforts to empower women and acknowledge their contributions towards realising national visions. The initiative aims at enhancing skills related to women's rights through structured training sessions.
