National Programme For Coders And Samsung Empower UAE Youth With Galaxy AI Pioneers Training Initiative

The National Programme for Coders and Samsung Gulf Electronics have opened registration for the Galaxy AI Pioneers programme. This initiative aims to introduce UAE nationals and residents aged 12-17 to Artificial Intelligence (AI). It builds on the success of the Samsung Innovation Campus, part of the UAE AI Camp 2024, and strengthens the partnership between Samsung and the UAE Office of AI.

Galaxy AI Pioneers will offer a hybrid learning experience from 23rd September to 15th December 2024. The programme is divided into three age-based groups. It covers topics such as AI fundamentals, Python, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, AI robotics, natural language processing, and ethical considerations in AI. Students will also explore Samsung Galaxy AI applications and create their own AI solutions through a capstone project.

The curriculum combines virtual instructor-led sessions with in-person classes at Coders HQ in Dubai. This approach ensures students receive comprehensive training in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The programme aims to nurture future innovators by providing them with hands-on experience in cutting-edge AI technologies.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mahmoud from the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office stated that launching this programme with Samsung aligns with the UAE government's vision to lead in AI innovation. He emphasised that this initiative offers youth a chance to gain practical experience while understanding AI's ethical implications.

Guest lectures from academicians and industry experts will provide students with real-world perspectives on AI applications. These sessions aim to give insights into practical uses of AI across various fields and highlight potential career paths within the technology sector.

Shafi Alam, Director at Samsung Gulf Electronics, expressed that "Galaxy AI Pioneers represents Samsung's commitment to fostering innovation and technological literacy among UAE's youth." He noted that by offering hands-on experience with AI, they are preparing young innovators for an AI-driven future.

This initiative not only develops technical skills but also instils an understanding of ethical considerations in technology use. It is crucial for building a generation of innovators who will contribute to the nation's digital transformation and knowledge-based economy.
