NMA UAE Unifies Voice, Tells UAE Story

The newly created National Media Authority is being framed as more than a regulator, with Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed describing it as a driver for a unified national voice that protects national gains and shares the UAE’s story globally, using a forward-looking vision anchored in the country’s enduring identity.

Al Hamed, who shared his remarks in a post on his account on the X platform, linked the Authority’s establishment to the UAE’s long-term ambitions, saying the media sector is central to sustainable development, national reputation and the presentation of the country’s achievements in regional and international arenas.

Al Hamed stated that the wise leadership’s approach to modernising the media sector rests on a strong belief in building an ecosystem that can keep pace with the language of the times, noting that media functions both as a development pillar and as a shield that protects and advances the UAE’s positive image worldwide.

He expressed deep gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the confidence shown by appointing Al Hamed as Chairman of the National Media Authority, describing the role as a national duty that requires him and the Authority’s team to translate this vision into a capable, modern media sector aligned with the UAE’s aspirations and its standing as a global model of leadership and innovation.

Looking ahead, Al Hamed explained that the National Media Authority plans to embed a professional, advanced media ecosystem that responds to fast digital change, reinforces the UAE’s status as a regional and global media hub, and encourages innovative, creative content that reflects the country’s values of tolerance, openness and progress.

He highlighted several priorities for the next stage, including developing the skills of national media professionals, empowering younger media talents, building stronger strategic partnerships with media organisations at home and abroad, and nurturing an environment that encourages creativity and innovation across the wider media sector.

National Media Authority, leadership support and collaboration

Al Hamed pointed out that the media sector’s recent achievements followed the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, together with the close follow-up and continuous support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, support that he said formed the foundation for an advanced media system able to innovate and address emerging challenges.

He stressed that the National Media Authority will cooperate in a spirit of teamwork with both government and private media institutions to help realise the UAE’s objective of producing positive media content that supports coexistence and peace, while also consolidating a national media structure that suits the UAE’s stature and speaks with a unified, strong and influential voice, without losing the richness of its diversity or the depth of its national identity.
