National CSR Fund Collaborates With Careem To Support Delivery Captains During Summer Months
The MAJRA National CSR Fund has formalised a partnership with Careem through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement, witnessed by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, aims to boost collaboration in Careem’s Annual Summer Initiatives. The initiatives are designed to support delivery captains during the UAE's hottest months, extending benefits across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.
This year's campaign will assist over 60,000 delivery captains from various platforms. The initiative includes air-conditioned mobile rest areas and sustainable solar-powered stops. These stations provide temperature control, free Wi-Fi, drinking water, and refreshments. They are strategically located in high-traffic areas to offer captains a safe place to rest and rehydrate during their shifts.

Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and co-founder of Careem, stated that the summer conditions in the UAE pose significant challenges for those working on the road. "Our summer initiatives were designed to provide tangible, on-the-ground support to make it easier and safer for captains to earn. This year we’re proud to partner with MAJRA National CSR Fund to expand these benefits across the UAE," he said.
Careem is also distributing Captain Kits containing towels, water bottles, and hydration supplements. In collaboration with Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), they will offer free health screenings at PAD premises throughout the summer. These measures aim to ensure the well-being of delivery captains as they face extreme temperatures.
Sarah Shaw, CEO of MAJRA National CSR Fund, highlighted the importance of these initiatives. "The Annual Summer Initiatives is an exceptional campaign that will offer on-the-field support and ensure safety with distinguished services for over 60,000 delivery captains," she noted. The MoU aligns with the 'Year of Community' and supports MAJRA's broader efforts across the UAE.
Additional Refreshment Services
Captains will have access to additional hydration services such as free ice cream, fresh fruit juices, and cold water dispensers placed in key delivery zones. These provisions are part of a comprehensive approach to enhance comfort and safety for those working under harsh weather conditions.
The collaboration between MAJRA National CSR Fund and Careem underscores a commitment to improving working conditions for delivery personnel during challenging summer months in the UAE. By offering practical solutions like rest areas and health screenings, they aim to make a positive impact on thousands of lives.
