Nahyan Bin Mubarak Receives Team Behind Al Wathiqa Podcast To Empower People Of Determination
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, recently hosted the team behind the national media initiative "Al Wathiqa" at his Majlis in Abu Dhabi. This project, launched by the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination in partnership with TRENDS Research & Advisory, aims to document significant milestones in UAE history through the creative voices of People of Determination.
During the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan praised the initiative for its national and humanitarian significance. He highlighted that "Al Wathiqa" serves as a pioneering model in using media to promote national identity and empower People of Determination to contribute actively to shaping the country's historical narrative. He stated, "I was delighted to meet this inspiring team, whose work on the ‘Al Wathiqa’ project reflects the essence of tolerance, empowerment, and community partnership. The People of Determination involved have demonstrated an exemplary model of media creativity, proving their ability to convey the story of the nation in a powerful and profound manner. This initiative is a sincere national voice that embodies the spirit of the Union and deep pride in the UAE’s identity."
The efforts align with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visionary leadership. He places great importance on People of Determination and believes in their vital role in building society and contributing to national development. The collaboration between Zayed Higher Organisation and TRENDS Research & Advisory was also commended for its valuable intellectual contributions.
Abdullah Abdul-Aali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, expressed gratitude for Sheikh Nahyan's support. "Al Wathiqa" is more than just a podcast; it is a comprehensive national empowerment project merging media, heritage, and knowledge. It provides People of Determination with a platform to share cultural content reflecting their pride in the nation and enhances their presence in media landscapes.
The initiative falls under the "Talented Determination" programme by Zayed Higher Organisation. This programme supports diverse talents among People of Determination in fields like acting, broadcasting, painting, singing, and music. The podcast features five presenters with various challenges who were trained professionally in voice and media production.
Historical Narratives Through Podcasts
Across 25 short episodes, these presenters narrate stories from UAE history including founding leaders' lives, key heritage landmarks, cultural traditions, and significant national occasions. Content development was led by researcher Jumaa Al Darmaki alongside TRENDS Research & Advisory which ensured historical accuracy.
"Al Wathiqa" aligns with Zayed Higher Organisation’s strategic vision to empower People of Determination within media and culture fields. This reflects broader institutional goals transitioning from care towards leadership roles.
