Nahyan Bin Mubarak Inaugurates Sarah Sky's Formula Exhibition Celebrating UAE's Cultural Legacy

The Etihad Modern Art Gallery recently inaugurated an exhibition by renowned abstract artist Sarah Sky. The event was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, gallery owner Khalid Seddiq Al Muttuwa, and other officials. This significant occasion highlighted the cultural vibrancy of Abu Dhabi's art scene.

Sarah Sky's exhibition is a celebration of the UAE's rich legacy through her captivating interpretations of movement, emotion, and form. The opening ceremony brought together dignitaries, art enthusiasts, and collectors from across the globe, showcasing art's ability to unite diverse audiences.

The exhibition features 53 artworks, symbolising each year since the UAE's formation. These pieces reflect themes of unity and vibrancy, drawing from Sarah Sky’s multicultural background as a French-American raised in Morocco and residing in Guatemala. Her journey is evident in her work's depth and diversity.

During the opening ceremony, Sarah Sky personally guided guests through her collection. She shared exclusive insights into her creative process and inspirations behind each piece. This personal touch offered attendees a deeper understanding of her artistic vision.

Titled "Formula Exhibition," this collection will be on display from 8th to 20th December 2024. It coincides with Abu Dhabi's lively cultural season during the Formula 1 finale, adding to the city's dynamic atmosphere at that time.

Sarah Sky’s mastery in abstract expression is evident in her work, which ranges from intricate miniatures to bold large-scale canvases. Her innovative use of colour, texture, and form invites viewers into an introspective experience that resonates universally.
