Nahyan Bin Mubarak Inaugurates Forbes Middle East Healthcare Leaders Summit Focusing On Innovation
The fourth Forbes Middle East Healthcare Leaders Summit was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. The event, held at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental on 18th–19th November, focused on "Community at the Heart of Healthcare Innovation". It brought together senior policymakers and healthcare leaders to discuss significant changes impacting the sector both regionally and globally.
In his keynote speech, Sheikh Nahyan emphasised the UAE's dedication to advancing healthcare and enhancing its global standing. He stated that the well-being of citizens is central to national strength and development. Building a world-class healthcare system remains a key priority for President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Nahyan highlighted rapid advancements in fields such as bioinformatics, molecular biology, nanotechnology, precision medicine, cancer immunology, AI, and robotic surgery. He stressed the importance of investing in research, digital transformation, and global scientific collaboration to drive these innovations forward.
Sheikh Nahyan also addressed the shared nature of health challenges worldwide and underscored the importance of international cooperation. He praised healthcare professionals for their dedication to dignity, compassion, and humanity in their work. According to him, innovation should be guided by long-term research, data analysis, and strategic planning.
Shaista Asif, Co-Founder and CEO of PureHealth, spoke about the significance of innovation and public-private partnerships in creating sustainable healthcare systems. Khuloud Al Omian, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Middle East, noted that the summit highlights how partnerships and investment in people are crucial for shaping modern healthcare's future.
Exploring Healthcare Innovations
The summit featured panel discussions on global partnerships, policy development, community initiatives, and AI's role in expanding access to care. Sessions delved into shifting focus from treatment to prevention through genomics, longevity science, and regenerative medicine.
Doctor’s Lab sessions showcased advances in precision medicine and AI-supported clinical decisions. They also covered robotic surgery innovations, neuro-technology developments, fetal surgery techniques, and trust-building approaches in aesthetic medicine.
The event concluded with a call for continued collaboration between public and private sectors to ensure inclusive healthcare systems. By focusing on innovation and partnerships, stakeholders aim to address current challenges while preparing for future needs.
