Nahayan Bin Mubarak Engages With Chief Monk Of Nah Luang Temple To Promote Interfaith Dialogue
Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE's Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, recently met with Venerable Phraphawanathammaphinan Seesuk, Chief Monk of Nah Luang Temple in Thailand. This meeting took place at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi. It underscored the UAE's dedication to tolerance and cultural openness.
The gathering was attended by Sorayut Chasombat, Thailand's Ambassador to the UAE. He warmly received Sheikh Nahayan and highlighted the visit's importance in enhancing cultural and spiritual ties between the two countries. This year marks 50 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Thailand.
The Thai Embassy hosted a delegation from Nah Luang Temple in the UAE from 15 to 22 May 2025. This initiative aimed to foster interfaith dialogue and share Buddhist spiritual and cultural values. The program was designed to promote mutual respect and global understanding.
Sheikh Nahayan expressed his appreciation for the strong relationship between Emiratis and Thais during his meeting with the Thai religious delegation. He emphasised that interactions with global spiritual leaders are crucial for promoting tolerance, coexistence, and peace worldwide.
Venerable Chief Monk Phraphawanathammaphinan Seesuk thanked Sheikh Nahayan for his warm reception. He praised the UAE's leadership for its steadfast commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence and cultural harmony. The monk stressed that such cross-cultural engagements are vital for building global peace.
The meeting concluded with a group photo session, symbolising shared respect and human connection. Both nations continue to nurture these values through dialogue, cooperation, and cultural diplomacy.
