Museum Of The Future To Showcase Dubai's Vision At South By Southwest 2025
Dubai's Museum of the Future is set to participate in South by Southwest (SXSW), a major event for technology, innovation, and art in Austin, Texas from 7th to 15th March 2025. This participation aims to highlight Dubai’s vision for technology and culture through 20 activations, panel discussions, and interactive experiences over five days.
The Museum of the Future will host a series of events at SXSW, including panel discussions led by experts and AI-driven interactive experiences. A notable feature is "Earth Dreams," a digital artwork by Refik Anadol that uses real environmental data to create visual stories. This artwork is also displayed on the second floor of Dubai's museum.

Distinguished speakers such as astronauts, urban planners, and filmmakers will discuss future challenges and opportunities in various fields. These sessions aim to provide insights into how innovation and creativity can drive significant changes across different sectors.
The Dubai Future Foundation will sponsor SXSW’s 2050 Track, facilitating discussions on lunar living, artificial intelligence, and the future of food. The Museum of the Future House has been designed to engage international audiences with Dubai’s innovative vision.
Notable speakers include UAE astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri, Canadian astronaut Shawna Pandya, film producer Gianluca Chakra, author Geci Karuri Sebina, Emirati animator Mohammed Saeed Harib, creator of 'Freej', and Cinema Akil founder Butheina Kazim. These leaders will share their expertise at the festival.
SXSW began in 1987 in the United States and has grown into an annual event attracting over 300,000 participants worldwide. It combines conferences and festivals covering technology, film, music, education, and culture.
Dubai's Vision on a Global Stage
Majed Al Mansoori, Executive Director of the Museum of the Future, stated that participating in SXSW offers a chance to present Dubai’s spirit globally. He said: "The Museum of the Future embodies the remarkable vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum... we’ll show why we are rapidly emerging as a global hub for innovation."
This participation underscores Dubai's ambition to shape a positive future for humanity on one of the world’s leading platforms for technology and culture. The museum aims to provide Austin with a glimpse into why Dubai is becoming a global centre for innovation.
