Mumtalakat And M42 Partner For Amana Healthcare's Bahrain Expansion

Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain, has recently unveiled a strategic collaboration with M42, Abu Dhabi-based healthcare organization, to introduce the Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain. This development marks a significant step towards achieving the healthcare goals outlined in Bahrain's Vision 2030 by enhancing clinical outcomes and healthcare accessibility.

The Amana Healthcare facility, a subsidiary of M42 and accredited by both CARF and JCI, plans to expand its successful care model from the UAE to Bahrain. This initiative is scheduled to kick off its operations in 2025 and is aimed at positioning Bahrain as a leader in specialized rehabilitation and long-term care. Moreover, it seeks to offer substantial employment opportunities for Bahrainis in the healthcare sector.

Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat, said: "Our partnership with M42 signifies a shared commitment to developing sustainable, long-term collaborations that contribute to the Kingdom's economic development, especially in the healthcare sector", emphasizing the initiative's potential to enhance Bahrain's healthcare landscape.

Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, underscored the collaboration's alignment with M42's vision to transform health and improve quality of life through tech-enabled health solutions. "We are honored to partner with Mumtalakat and bring our world-class expertise and highly specialized facility, Amana Healthcare, to Bahrain," Al Nowais remarked, highlighting the endeavor's focus on personalized and precise care.

Facility Features and Services

The new Amana Healthcare facility in Al Jasra is designed to cater to individuals with complex medical needs requiring prolonged inpatient care. It will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including a dedicated laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, therapy rooms, and recreational spaces. Additionally, it will offer tailored social programs and non-clinical services to support patients and their families in adjusting to life post-hospitalization.

M42's Amana long-term care model has been proven to alleviate the strain on acute hospital beds and improve healthcare resource efficiency. In recognition of its sustainability efforts in 2023, Amana Healthcare received accolades from the Arab Hospitals Federation for its digital transformation initiatives, positive work culture, and sustainable healthcare practices. The facility was also awarded the Golden Initiative Certificate in Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency, as well as Water, Waste & Resource Management.
