Mubadala Investment Company Initiates Al Maryah Island Waterfront Transformation Project

Mubadala Investment Company PJSC (Mubadala) has initiated the Al Maryah Waterfront enhancement project. This development aims to transform Al Maryah Island's lifestyle offerings, enhancing Abu Dhabi's reputation as a top global destination. The project was launched by Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, Mubadala’s Deputy Group CEO, alongside Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of UAE Investments.

The centrepiece of this project is a 30-metre-tall luminous sphere surrounded by flowing water. It features over 1,000 AI-powered jets that shoot water more than 75 meters into the air in sync with music by Ramin Djawadi. These elements are crafted by WET, a leading water design firm.

Additional features include an extended sea boardwalk allowing guests to reach the water's edge. A shaded outdoor cooling system will enhance comfort during hot weather. New food and beverage zones and event-ready public spaces will further elevate visitor experiences.

Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri stated, "The Al Maryah Waterfront enhancement project is a strategic investment in the future of Al Maryah Island." He highlighted that the project will introduce iconic elements to improve quality of life and offer diverse experiences for visitors, reinforcing the island’s status as a premier lifestyle destination.

Once completed, the waterfront will become a vibrant setting for public life. It aims to attract international visitors, support Abu Dhabi's tourism goals, and provide premium opportunities for leisure and cultural activities.
