Moscow Experiences Surge In UAE Tourist Arrivals With Tailored Offerings For Gulf Visitors
Moscow has seen a significant increase in tourists from the UAE, with 62,100 visitors in 2024 compared to just 18,000 in 2019. Evgeny Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, shared this information with the Emirates News Agency (WAM). He emphasised that Moscow offers numerous attractions tailored for Gulf visitors.
To enhance the experience for Gulf tourists, Moscow provides many halal dining options and Arabic-speaking services. The city has established five tourist information centres located in key areas like the city centre and Dream Island amusement park. These centres offer assistance in both English and Arabic.

A new Tourist Information Centre has been launched, offering Sber’s banking services. Travellers can obtain a Tourist card and receive support at this facility. In addition, a Muslim-Friendly Guide to Moscow was introduced in 2024 for Middle Eastern visitors. This guide includes recommendations on dining, accommodation, activities, and shopping.
Kozlov highlighted the introduction of electronic visas (e-visas), which have simplified entry for many international travellers. This development makes visiting Moscow more convenient and accessible for tourists from various countries.
Moscow hosts a wide range of cultural events throughout the year. The summer season features vibrant festivals like the Moscow Estates Festival, which takes place at over 40 historic estates. Theatre Boulevard offers 600 performances by 3,000 artists across 14 outdoor venues over 92 days.
The Gardens and Flowers Festival transforms city spaces into blooming landscapes with rare plants and floral art displays. Additionally, "Street. Dance" and "Street. Art" projects bring open-air dancing and art sessions to central Moscow, offering free master classes on Strastnoy Boulevard.
Landmarks and Attractions
Moscow boasts numerous cultural and historical landmarks such as the Kremlin, Red Square, and Alexander Garden. Visitors can enjoy performances at the Bolshoi Theatre or explore Moskino Film Park for immersive cinema tours. Moscow-City adds a modern touch with its skyscrapers and one of Europe’s highest observation decks.
The city also features "Made in Moscow" art pavilions showcasing locally crafted souvenirs. The Green Market presents over 700 top brands from this initiative, offering unique gifts to international visitors.
Sustainability Initiatives
Kozlov noted that Moscow is among the greenest megacities globally, with over 140 parks and natural reserves. Projects like Zaryadye Park and Gorky Park integrate ecological design with public engagement efforts. Smart lighting systems, waste management strategies, and eco-friendly transport contribute to sustainability goals.
Moscow remains dedicated to providing a welcoming environment for global travellers by ensuring comfort through modern tourism facilities while maintaining its rich cultural heritage.
