MoHRE Celebrates New Year With Nationwide Festivities For Workers In The UAE
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) recently hosted New Year celebrations for workers throughout the UAE. Under the theme ‘Happy Workers, Thriving Business’, these events took place at 18 locations, offering sports, entertainment, competitions, and prizes like a car raffle. Activities were held in various labour accommodations including Al Eskan Al Jamae and Labotel Workers Village.
Mohsin Ali Al Nassi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Inspection and Compliance at MoHRE, highlighted the purpose of these events. "These celebratory events, organised on national occasions and public holidays, reflect our vision to enhance the quality of life, welfare, and happiness of the UAE workforce. They also honour workers and their accomplishments, recognising their contribution to the nation’s sustainable development journey."

Al Nassi also commended the collaboration between MoHRE and its partners from both public and private sectors. He noted that companies sponsoring these events demonstrated significant social responsibility. This partnership underscores a commitment to improving workers' lives through shared efforts.
Dalal Al Shehhi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Protection at MoHRE, emphasised the importance of regular worker engagement. "These events reflect the UAE’s humanitarian approach and our leadership's commitment to enriching workers’ lives and ensuring their happiness. This aligns with the Ministry’s strategy to partner with various stakeholders to foster innovation, boost productivity, and positively impact the labour market."
The celebrations were supported by numerous stakeholders such as the Ministry of Interior; Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security; Abu Dhabi Ports Group; Dubai Civil Defence; Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones (RAKEZ); among others. These collaborations ensured a wide-reaching impact across different Emirates.
Sponsorship played a crucial role in these festivities. Al Majma Insurance served as the Diamond Sponsor while Aldar Properties was the Platinum Sponsor. Strategic partners included organisations like UAE Food Bank and Dubai Charity Association.
Engagements were not limited to just entertainment but also aimed at enhancing worker welfare. Regular initiatives have become integral to MoHRE's programmes, bringing joy and meaningful engagement to workers across the nation.
The events took place in several prominent locations such as Emirates Global Aluminum; Fujairah National Construction & Transport Co; Tasameem Workers City; Khansaheb Contracting; Dulsco City; Al Jimi Worker Village; Hameem Worker City; Sawaeed Residential City; among others.
This initiative reflects a broader strategy by MoHRE to improve worker satisfaction through collaboration with various entities.
