MoHRE Launches Four Services For Violators’ Status Settlement And Fines Exemption
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has introduced four services to help rectify the status of workers in violation and exempt establishments from administrative fines during a two-month grace period. This initiative, effective from 1st September until 31st October, is in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security under the slogan "Towards a Safer Society."
The services include issuing, renewing, and cancelling work permits, as well as processing work abandonment complaints. These are available to individuals eligible for the status settlement grace period, including those with expired work or residency permits and those against whom work abandonment complaints have been filed.
During this period, establishments can apply for an exemption from administrative fines due to failure to provide employment contracts or renew work permits. The Ministry is accepting applications through its website mohre.gov.ae, the MOHRE mobile app on Apple and Google Play stores, business service centres, and domestic workers services centres.

The Ministry has emphasised its readiness to process applications swiftly and efficiently around the clock. This ensures that applicants can take necessary steps to rectify their status through a flexible and streamlined process.
As part of ongoing efforts to reduce bureaucracy in its services, MoHRE has integrated its services and eliminated several unnecessary documents and procedures. This aims to offer a more seamless and convenient experience for customers.
The Ministry urged violating workers and employers to take advantage of the grace period. This offers a renewed opportunity to continue working in the country and resolve previous violations without facing legal consequences.
Legal Exemptions
This initiative allows violating workers who choose to leave the country to do so without facing financial penalties. This is in accordance with the Federal Law on the Entry and Residence of Foreigners and the Regulation of Employment Relationship Law.
This initiative reflects UAE's values of tolerance, compassion, and social cohesion. It provides violators with an exceptional opportunity to rectify their status while continuing to work and live in the UAE with their families while respecting the law.
The Ministry's efforts aim at creating a safer society by encouraging compliance with regulations. By offering these services during the grace period, MoHRE hopes to foster a more regulated workforce environment.
