MoHESR And ENEC Join Forces To Enhance National Scholarship Programme For Emirati Engineering Students

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has partnered with Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) to enhance educational opportunities for Emirati students. This collaboration focuses on supporting the National Scholarship Programme, offering high-quality training for engineering students, and easing their transition into the workforce. The agreement was signed by Ahmad Ibrahim Alsaadi from MoHESR and Ahmed Jassim Al Shamsi from ENEC, with senior officials present.

Ahmad Ibrahim Alsaadi stated, "We are committed to strengthening cooperation with national companies and key employers to align our scholarships with the labour market needs, with the aim of enhancing the sustainability of strategic national sectors. At MoHESR, we will continue working with our partners across the public and private sectors to expand opportunities for our students to pursue degrees at leading international universities and equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to national development. Our goal is to transform the scholarship journey into a launchpad for future leaders."

MoHESR and ENEC Support Emirati Students

This partnership aims to cultivate local talent in essential fields like mechanical, electrical, nuclear, and chemical engineering. It aligns with the UAE’s strategy to build human capital tailored to future labour market demands. The Ministry will annually allocate scholarships for Emirati students in coordination with ENEC. Both parties will collaborate on selecting study destinations, aligning selection criteria with admission requirements, and managing applications.

Ahmed Jassim Al Shamsi remarked, "ENEC places great importance on nurturing Emirati talent to drive the future of the UAE’s nuclear energy sector. This partnership supports the company’s efforts to attract and prepare the next generation of specialists, reflecting ENEC’s pivotal role in the clean energy sector and its contribution to advancing the UAE’s knowledge-based economy."

ENEC will offer career support through structured training programmes for scholarship students. These initiatives aim to provide skills and experience necessary for workforce integration. Additionally, ENEC commits to employing graduates according to its recruitment procedures. This collaboration highlights constructive cooperation between national institutions in developing human competencies.

The partnership underscores integrating efforts between MoHESR and relevant authorities to ensure sustainability of the National Scholarship Programme. It aims at maximising contributions towards achieving national priorities while boosting competitiveness in specialised sectors.
