MoHAP Promotes Digital Services For Attesting Sick Leave And Medical Reports In The UAE

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) is encouraging the use of its digital services for sick leave and medical report attestations. This initiative is part of the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, aiming to improve efficiency, reduce transaction times, and boost customer satisfaction. The digital platform allows MoHAP to verify sick leaves and medical reports from both private and government healthcare providers, ensuring seamless submission to employers.

Customers can access these services through the Ministry’s website or smart app using their UAE Pass. Fees are paid electronically. Sick leaves up to five days are automatically attested, while those exceeding five days require a medical committee's review, with decisions given within one working day. For leaves over a month, approval from the Supreme Medical Committee is necessary after electronic fee payment.

Leaves shorter than a month are assessed by a medical subcommittee. Requests for attestation must be submitted within one month of issuance. If local health authorities have already attested a leave, no further certification from MoHAP is needed. For documents issued abroad, prior attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required before referral to the Medical Committee upon customer request.

Abdullah Ahli, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services Sector, highlighted that these digital services aim to enhance healthcare quality and innovate smart solutions. "We are committed to implementing the directives of the UAE’s leadership as well as to contributing to the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme," he said. The Ministry aims to simplify procedures with a smart system ensuring quick attestation and credible medical decisions.

The Ministry operates under a strategy that considers customers as key partners in service development. Abdullah Ahli stated that they strive for a comprehensive user experience that builds trust and meets public expectations efficiently. "The Ministry will spare no effort to offer a comprehensive and user-friendly experience," he added.

Amal Al Marzooqi, Director of the Customer Happiness Department at MoHAP, mentioned that the sick leave attestation service is designed for flexibility and transparency. "Our goal is to enhance customer confidence in the healthcare system while continuously improving the overall user experience," she noted.

Al Marzooqi emphasised adopting cutting-edge digital solutions aligned with international best practices ensures efficient health services for all users. This approach aims at providing transparent and reliable health services while evolving service delivery channels to meet current needs and future expectations.
