MoHAP's 14th Heat Exhaustion And Disease Prevention Campaign Successfully Concludes In Sharjah
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), alongside various partners, has wrapped up the 14th Heat Exhaustion and Disease Prevention Campaign in Sharjah. This two-month initiative aimed to educate the public on the risks of heat exposure during summer. The campaign, themed "Your Safety is Our Priority," focused on equipping workers with preventive measures against heat-related illnesses.
More than 10,000 workers benefited directly from the campaign's activities, which spanned over 13 phases at different venues like Sharjah Sports Club and Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club. The campaign also reached over half a million people through digital platforms, extending its impact beyond physical locations.

Workers received a variety of health services, including eye exams and screenings for blood pressure and glucose levels. Additionally, they were provided with medical supplies and nutritional guidance. Practical advice on first-aid procedures and safe responses to heat exhaustion was also part of the initiative.
The campaign's activities included multilingual lectures and onsite medical check-ups to promote preventive health practices. These efforts are aligned with MoHAP’s strategy to prioritise human health as a national concern, contributing to the sustainability of the country's workforce.
This year, the campaign broadened its scope to include new groups such as female factory workers, gas station attendants, delivery drivers, and field workers exposed to sunlight. By doing so, MoHAP reinforced its mission to safeguard public health by providing essential information to reduce heat exhaustion risks.
Field visits were conducted at outdoor worksites where workers learned about crucial health measures. Employers received guidance on implementing preventive protocols to ensure workplace safety. This approach highlights MoHAP’s commitment to enhancing public health and quality of life for all community members.
A National Responsibility
Mohammed Abdullah Al Zarooni, Director of MoHAP’s Representative Office in Sharjah, emphasised that this annual summer campaign is both a humanitarian effort and a strategic commitment. He described it as a national responsibility aimed at protecting workers from heat exhaustion dangers.
Al Zarooni noted that this initiative reflects the UAE’s focus on human well-being as central to development. It promotes shared responsibility among government and private sectors, fostering a healthy culture while ensuring safe working environments for everyone involved.
The campaign's success demonstrates MoHAP’s dedication to improving public health in line with the objectives of the "Year of Community." By raising awareness about summer heat dangers and providing preventive tools, MoHAP aims to protect human capital as an investment in the nation's future.
