MoHAP Achieves Significant Milestones In Health And Nutrition Surveys For UAE's Future

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has made notable progress in its national surveys project. The National Health Survey is 95% complete, while the National Nutrition Survey has reached 78%. These surveys are pivotal in establishing a comprehensive health database, which will enhance the UAE's healthcare system for the next 50 years by aligning with global standards and adopting innovative solutions.

The project's aim extends beyond local improvements. It seeks to elevate the UAE's position in international health competitiveness rankings. This progress is attributed to institutional collaboration and strategic partnerships involving MoHAP, the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, local statistical centres, and other health authorities. By using advanced technologies and international methods for data collection, they ensure accurate results.

These surveys are crucial for shaping future health policies and programmes. They provide insights that guide decision-making and foster innovative health strategies. Conducted using advanced scientific methods, these surveys help maintain the UAE's standing in global health rankings while developing forward-thinking solutions tailored to societal needs.

Dr Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, stated, "Completing 95% of the National Health Survey and 78% of the Nutrition Survey is a significant step in our journey towards developing a world-class healthcare system in the UAE. These surveys are built on accurate, up-to-date data that helps plan better and shape health policies that truly meet the needs of our community while strengthening the UAE’s position on the global stage."

Al Rand highlighted that this achievement was possible due to collective efforts from all partners sharing a vision of an innovative, sustainable health sector offering high-quality care. He expressed gratitude for community participation, noting their cooperation as essential for building a healthier society aligned with national aspirations.

Data-Driven Health Strategies

Dr Alia Zaid Harbi, Director of MoHAP's Statistics and Research Centre, remarked on the importance of these surveys: "These surveys are the backbone of our health strategies, which are developed based on precise, field-based data that directly addresses the evolving needs of our community." Harbi assured that MoHAP prioritises data confidentiality and accuracy by applying cutting-edge international methodologies.

The Ministry aims to improve residents' quality of life through these surveys by designing prevention-focused health programmes that make tangible differences. Tracking various health indicators provides insights into public health trends, enabling personalised programmes addressing specific needs.

Additionally, these surveys support digital transformation by analysing key indicators promoting sustainable development. They ensure resources are allocated effectively, reflecting MoHAP's commitment to creating a world-class healthcare system benefiting everyone in the UAE.

Al Rand emphasised MoHAP's dedication to establishing an integrated preventive and curative system offering proactive services driven by current field data. "By utilising reliable big data," he said, "the Ministry can channel its efforts towards developing health policies, programmes, and research while managing preventive and community health initiatives to improve quality of life across the UAE."

This initiative underscores MoHAP's commitment to placing society at development's core for a healthier future.
