The Edge of Government exhibit, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation and supported by First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), features interactive displays under the theme 'Butterfly Effect.' It explores how current decisions influence future societies. Visitors are encouraged to think creatively about solving pressing global challenges.

The exhibit includes ten standout innovations selected from over 150 projects worldwide. These projects were nominated for the Edge of Government Award based on criteria like novelty, replicability, and impact. Innovations represent countries such as the USA, Kenya, Italy, Australia, and more.

The US-developed 'Digital Food Twin Model' was highlighted at the summit. This model uses satellite imagery to simulate food movement and identify vulnerabilities in food security due to extreme weather conditions. Collaborating with NASA, this initiative has improved agricultural monitoring in several countries.

Palau's 'Palau Pledge,' showcased at the exhibit, is an immigration visa focused on environmental conservation. Visitors must sign a pledge in their passports to adhere to responsible tourism practices that protect Palau's ecosystem and respect local culture.

Unique Approaches to Global Challenges

Italy presented 'Volontari SOS,' a crisis response platform adapted from a rock concert management system during a flood crisis. This platform offers a scalable model for managing emergencies in different regions.

Australia's 'Dragonfly Thinking' employs generative AI to provide policymakers with comprehensive perspectives on complex issues. This approach is being piloted through Australia's National Resilience Project to enhance resilience in areas like cybersecurity and climate change adaptation.

Innovations in Urban Planning and Biotechnology

The UK-South Korea collaboration introduced a flexible licensing system that revitalises vacant historic buildings for pop-up shops and events. This system reduces bureaucracy using real-time IoT data and decentralised governance.

A UK-Cameroon initiative leverages AI-driven biotechnology for community empowerment. It ensures community participation in genetic surveying while allowing bioindustries access to genetic data under benefit-sharing agreements.

Social Care Innovations and Environmental Monitoring

The Netherlands showcased an innovative social care approach called the 'Hacking Method.' It empowers local workers to bypass bureaucratic hurdles for vulnerable individuals by creating customised support plans through a digital platform.

Poland's oyster-based bio-monitoring system provides continuous water quality protection by sensing contamination levels equivalent to legal standards. This innovation enhances water safety for treatment plants and ecosystems.

The World Governments Summit 2025 gathers over 30 heads of state, more than 80 international organisations, and 140 government delegations. The agenda includes 21 global forums exploring future trends with over 300 speakers participating in interactive sessions.
