Mohammed Bin Rashid Meets Prominent Citizens And Business Leaders To Discuss Dubai's Development Initiatives

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, recently engaged with a diverse group at the Union House in Dubai. The gathering included citizens, business leaders, investors, and senior officials from both government and private sectors. His Highness highlighted the UAE's ongoing development under President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's leadership.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that the UAE's progress is driven by investment in its people and a commitment to innovation. He stressed the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to maintain the country's status among leading global nations. This partnership is crucial for adapting to rapid global changes.

In the presence of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and H.H. Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohammed discussed Dubai’s development journey. He noted that Dubai's growth is guided by a clear vision and limitless ambition. The emirate's success is attributed to strong public-private partnerships that enhance its position as a global hub.

"Dubai has, over the decades, succeeded in evolving a distinctive development model based on innovation, openness, and competitiveness, making it a preferred global destination for investment, business, and talent," said His Highness. He added that future efforts would focus on economic performance and government services while embracing digital innovation.

On the sidelines of the event, Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Development, spoke about the ‘Year of the Community’ initiative launched by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. She outlined key strategies aimed at strengthening social cohesion and empowering individuals to participate actively in national development.

Al Mazrui highlighted initiatives like ‘Hewi Dubai’ and the ‘Community Development Fund,’ which reflect H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s values. These projects aim to engage various community segments in impactful activities that foster societal cohesion.

Sustainable Development Efforts

The Ministry has partnered with Nafis and other entities to create employment opportunities for over 3,800 beneficiaries. This effort significantly improves their quality of life. Additionally, legislative frameworks have been established to support sustainability and innovation within public welfare systems.

Al Mazrui noted that there are currently 842 public welfare organisations involving 160,000 members serving communities across the UAE. The country also provides 70 places of worship for non-Muslims to practice their faiths in an environment of mutual respect.

Empowering Future Generations

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also met with winners of the Arab Reading Challenge in the UAE: Sheikh Saeed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and Reem Adel Ahmed Al Zarouni. He congratulated them on their achievements and emphasised that reading lays a foundation for intellectual growth.

The winners serve as role models for future generations who understand that knowledge paves the way for leadership. Promoting reading is seen as an investment in shaping a knowledgeable society capable of driving national progress.

The event concluded with His Highness joining attendees for commemorative photos. This gathering underscored Dubai’s commitment to fostering community engagement while advancing its ambitious development goals through collaboration across all sectors.
