UAE Launches Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Fellowships Initiative For Future-Ready Workforce

The UAE is prioritising the development of government talent to meet future challenges. Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasised the leadership's focus on preparing a workforce capable of driving economic growth and digital transformation. This initiative begins with two specialised master's programmes in Economic Strategies and International Policy, and Artificial Intelligence for the Government Sector.

Al Gergawi highlighted that these educational opportunities are strategic investments in human capital, crucial for shaping the UAE's future. He stated, "This is the path toward the better future we strive for, one that secures lasting prosperity for our country and its people." The initiative aligns with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s vision of lifelong learning, integrating national values and technological advancement.

UAE Launches Government Fellowships Initiative

The first phase targets exceptional Emirati professionals in government roles. Participants will engage in advanced academic programmes to gain expertise in economic policy and applied artificial intelligence. These programmes are developed with top universities worldwide, ensuring alignment with government priorities.

Academic partners were chosen based on 2026 global university rankings and their track record in executive education. Institutions like Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, University of Oxford, MIT, New York University, and Georgetown University will host fellows. Each institution is recognised for its excellence in designing leadership programs tailored to public sector needs.

Al Gergawi reiterated that continued investment in people is vital for maintaining the UAE’s leadership in government transformation and sustainable development. Focus areas include international policy, economic strategy, and artificial intelligence—key disciplines for enhancing national progress and competitiveness.

Empowering Future Leaders

The fellowships are not just educational; they are strategic investments aimed at empowering Emiratis to lead economic initiatives and manage digital transformations. Graduates will be equipped to develop forward-thinking public policies grounded in data and innovation.

The programme invites all UAE government entities to nominate high-potential Emirati professionals. Participants will be divided equally between two focus areas: 100 fellows in economic strategy and international policy, and 100 in artificial intelligence for the public sector.

This initiative reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It underscores a commitment to developing a future-ready workforce capable of leading national efforts in key sectors.
