MoFA And ICP Introduce Innovative Consular Services For Golden Visa Holders At GITEX Global 2025
The 45th GITEX Global 2025 event marked the introduction of a unique set of consular services for UAE Golden Visa holders. This initiative, a global first, was unveiled through a partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). The launch was attended by Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi from MoFA and Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili from ICP, along with other officials.
This collaboration aligns with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's declaration of 2025 as the "Year of Community" under the theme "Hand in Hand." This national initiative aims to foster a cohesive society and reflects the UAE Government’s dedication to innovative service models that enhance efficiency. It also strengthens inter-agency cooperation, positioning the UAE as a global hub for talent and innovation.

Omar Obaid Alshamsi highlighted that these tailored consular services for Golden Visa holders underscore the leadership’s vision to make the UAE one of the most competitive nations for attracting global talent. He mentioned that the strategic partnership between MoFA and ICP creates a comprehensive service ecosystem that simplifies procedures and supports Golden Visa holders both within and outside the UAE.
Major General Suhail Al Khaili noted that these services signify a significant advancement in government integration aimed at serving people. He explained that ICP, in coordination with MoFA, is developing smart solutions to meet Golden Visa holders' needs. These efforts reflect leadership directives to empower distinguished residents while providing a secure environment embodying UAE’s values.
The new consular services package includes an electronic Return Document for lost or damaged passports abroad and a dedicated hotline for direct support. Additionally, it offers rapid emergency response through MoFA’s 24/7 Call Centre at 0097124931133, ensuring immediate assistance when necessary. These measures extend comprehensive care previously available only to UAE nationals.
The scope of emergency response services has expanded to include UAE Golden Visa holders, ensuring protection in all situations. The services also facilitate repatriating mortal remains of deceased Golden Visa holders abroad, coordinating with health and official authorities to expedite procedures and ease burdens on grieving families.
These initiatives reflect the UAE’s commitment to creating an integrated service model that attracts investors, innovators, and exceptional professionals. By empowering them to contribute actively to national progress and sustainable development, the UAE strengthens its reputation as a global destination for investment and innovation.
