MoF Celebrates Graduation Of Emirati Cadres In Financial Sustainability And Accounting Programmes
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently celebrated the graduation of federal government employees who completed specialised programmes in financial sustainability and government accounting. These initiatives, part of the Financial Sustainability and Accounting Capacity Building Programme, aim to enhance participants' readiness for future challenges and promote best practices in financial management across federal entities.
The event was attended by notable figures including Mariam Mohammed Hassan Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of Government Finance Management at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Kyle Long, President of the American University in Dubai, and Lucia Real Martin GAICD, Executive Director at ACCA. Several department directors from federal entities and representatives from international academic and professional institutions were also present.

Mariam Al Amiri highlighted that graduating a distinguished group of federal employees marks a significant milestone in preparing qualified Emirati talent for future public financial management roles. She stated, "This achievement reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to developing human capital and equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to keep pace with the rapid development in accounting and public finance, in line with international best practices and standards."
She further emphasised that these programmes are crucial for enhancing financial governance frameworks. They reinforce accountability principles, support sustainable digital transformation, and align with the UAE Government's strategic objectives in public financial management.
Dr. Kyle Long noted that completing the Executive Diploma Programme in Government Financial Policy Sustainability is a significant milestone for federal employees. He remarked on their dedication to advancing the UAE’s vision for a sustainable government financial system. The university remains committed to strengthening its partnership with MoF to support national talent in areas like AI, financial technology, and sustainable policy development.
He added, "The Executive Diploma Programme exemplifies precisely how universities like ours can meaningfully collaborate with government to build capacity, enhance skills, and ensure sustainability. It aligns with the UAE government’s objectives of empowering national talent, enhancing financial efficiency, and advancing digital transformation and AI."

Lucia Real Martin expressed pride in partnering with MoF to honour public sector professionals poised to lead public finance in the UAE. She said, "ACCA is proud to partner with the UAE Ministry of Finance to honour public sector professionals who represent the future of public finance leadership in the UAE." Participants gained insights into financial management, governance, sustainability, and digital transformation through ACCA’s programme.
This achievement is part of a broader initiative by MoF to bolster federal employees' capabilities in financial sustainability. Strategic partnerships with leading academic institutions like the American University in Dubai host programmes such as the Executive Diploma Programme in Government Financial Policy Sustainability.
