MoEI Launches 'We Are Your Support' Initiative To Enhance Services For Senior Citizens And Residents

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has introduced a series of initiatives called ‘We Are Your Support’. These are part of the Year of the Community efforts aimed at improving life quality for senior citizens and residents. The initiatives focus on providing integrated services to enhance the well-being and stability of this demographic.

Among these initiatives is the National Housing Specifications Guide for Senior Citizens, which offers free housing design options via the "Darak" platform. Additionally, voluntary engineering consultations in energy, electricity, design, and construction are available through the "Aounkom" initiative. These services aim to cater to the specific needs of senior citizens.

The MoEI has appointed experienced employees as advisors for seniors at service centres in Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. These advisors possess strong communication skills and fluency in local dialects, ensuring they handle cases with care. They provide personalised solutions that respect diverse lifestyles.

For elderly women, the "Leen Babek" service allows them to complete transactions from home, ensuring privacy. For men, mobility is enhanced with dedicated parking spaces and smart service desks. This personalised support continues until their service needs are fully met.

The initiative also includes a "Golden Counter", a priority desk at service centres exclusively for senior citizens. This ensures their transactions are processed swiftly. Additionally, awareness workshops are conducted to familiarise seniors with digital services, offering direct support when needed.

Sharif Al Olama, Under-Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, highlighted that this initiative aligns with UAE leadership's directives to improve life quality for all societal segments. He stated that serving the elderly is both a duty and a privilege.

Al Olama remarked, "We believe that serving the elderly is not just a duty, but a privilege and a gesture of gratitude toward a generation that contributed to building the nation." He emphasised that ‘We Are Your Support’ aims to empower seniors by providing exceptional service experiences reflecting appreciation.

He further added that MoEI is committed to developing services according to high standards. The goal is to eliminate bureaucracy while delivering smart and seamless human-centred services. This supports government objectives of offering proactive services enhancing life quality for all community members.

The initiatives reflect MoEI's dedication to creating an inclusive environment where senior citizens receive personalised care tailored to their unique needs. By prioritising their well-being through innovative solutions, MoEI demonstrates its commitment to fostering an empowered community.
