Ministry Of Finance Organises Financial Media Forum To Enhance Economic Awareness In UAE

The Ministry of Finance hosted the Financial Media Forum in Dubai, focusing on "Government Financial Data." This event underscores the Ministry's dedication to collaborating with media entities. It acknowledges the media's vital role in enhancing financial literacy and providing insights into the UAE's economic and financial progress.

Recognising the media as a strategic ally, the Ministry aims to achieve sustainable development by ensuring accurate and transparent financial information reaches the public. The forum highlighted the importance of modern financial concepts and the media's role in communicating these ideas, reinforcing the UAE's global economic standing.

The forum aimed to offer journalists a platform to understand the UAE’s fiscal policy priorities better. These priorities include sustainable development, improving government financial operations, and bolstering the UAE’s international financial sector position. The event also introduced an electronic portal as a reliable source for financial data and statistics to aid journalists.

Azza Ali Aljassmi, Director of Government Communication at the Ministry of Finance, attended alongside Abeer Ali Al Abdooli, Director of Macroeconomic Fiscal Policy. They were joined by local media journalists and financial experts from the Ministry. The gathering emphasised dialogue with media professionals to equip them with tools for analysing financial data.

The forum featured various presentations and interactive sessions. Sahel Al Rousan, Senior Economic Advisor in the Macro Fiscal Policy Department, delivered a talk titled "Government Data and Public Financial Awareness." This session underscored how government financial data can shape effective media messages for public benefit.

Another session titled "Utilising Financial Data" included experts like Sahel Al Rousan, Ahmed Al Abdouli, Shaikha Al Hammadi, and Shaikha Al Shamsi. They discussed how financial data aids economic policymaking and strategies for presenting specialised data to audiences effectively.

A presentation by Ahmed Al Abdouli focused on "Government Financial Data and Statistics," highlighting key statistics that reflect government performance. Integrating this data into media reporting aims to boost transparency within the sector.
