Ministry Of Finance Partners With CIPS To Launch Practitioner Level Diploma In Procurement And Supply

The Ministry of Finance has partnered with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) to introduce the CIPS Practitioner Level Diploma in Procurement and Supply 2025. This initiative aims to enhance national skills, foster innovation in government, and improve the UAE's global standing. The agreement was signed by Younis Haji AlKhoori and Sam Achampong, with senior officials from both organisations present.

AlKhoori expressed the Ministry's dedication to a progressive vision that enhances public finance excellence and promotes sustainable development globally. He emphasised that this collaboration with CIPS will create new opportunities for developing national competencies through advanced educational programmes, thereby improving government performance and competitiveness.

MoU Signed for Procurement Diploma in UAE

The introduction of the CIPS Practitioner Level Diploma marks a crucial advancement in empowering federal government employees. It focuses on innovative procurement and sourcing strategies that prioritise financial and environmental sustainability. This initiative is designed to equip employees with the necessary skills to excel in their roles.

Sam Achampong highlighted the diploma's role in strengthening government employees' capabilities. "The CIPS Practitioner Level Diploma is designed to strengthen the capabilities of government employees by equipping them with effective and sustainable procurement and sourcing strategies, ensuring they stay ahead of global trends and deliver optimal outcomes," he stated.

The certification primarily targets financial and procurement managers, along with chief procurement officers within the federal government. It aims to enhance their professional and analytical skills, enabling them to implement effective procurement strategies that ensure efficiency while promoting sustainability in government processes.
