Ministry Of Family And Zayed Higher Organisation Launch Initiative To Support People Of Determination

The Ministry of Family and Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) have launched a collaborative initiative. This initiative aims to create a comprehensive service system tailored to the needs of People of Determination. It aligns with the UAE's strategy to enhance government collaboration, improve quality of life, and promote social inclusion for this community.

By January 2026, a unified card will be introduced, recognised at both federal and local levels. This card will facilitate access to various services for People of Determination. The collaboration also involves aligning legislations and regulations, fully implementing the Unified National Disability Classification, and unifying standards for diagnosis and assessment.

Hessa Abdulrahman Tahlak, Assistant Undersecretary for the Development Sector at the Ministry of Family, highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing the role of People of Determination in UAE society. She stated that this partnership reflects the vision of leadership prioritising this group. "We see People of Determination as a cornerstone of our social fabric," she said.

The initiative includes accepting applications for the People of Determination card through Zayed Higher Organisation in Abu Dhabi. Joint training programmes will be coordinated to enhance national professionals' capabilities in this field. Expertise and knowledge exchange will further support these efforts.

Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, described the collaboration as a strategic step toward improving services for People of Determination. He emphasised technology adoption and digital integration to enhance service efficiency and ensure full inclusion. "Creating an inclusive environment starts with effective institutional cooperation," he noted.

The cooperation also focuses on developing curricula and facilities in care centres. Public awareness campaigns will address issues related to People of Determination, contributing to an inclusive environment. Both entities are committed to protecting rights and unifying responses through various communication channels.

Commitment to Empowerment

Zayed Higher Organisation is dedicated to providing equal services that empower these groups and enable their full societal participation. The organisation aims to monitor employment stability for People of Determination and offer necessary professional support. Innovative solutions like data-sharing networks will be implemented.

Both parties are working on benchmarking systems, working hours, and needs assessments for People of Determination. They plan to exchange best practices locally and globally while ensuring participation in relevant events. This partnership represents an integrated model seeking unified efforts across the country.
