Ministry Of Education Initiates Specialised Training Week To Enhance Educator Skills And Performance
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has initiated the Specialised Training Week, which will continue until 20th December. This event aims to involve over 24,000 educators, including school leaders and teachers, as they gear up for the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.
More than 66 workshops are part of this training week. These sessions are crafted to meet approved standards and enhance the quality and sustainability of professional development programmes for educators and school leaders.

Subject matter experts deliver these workshops, which cover around 240 training hours. The focus is on addressing educators' specific needs, relevant scientific and technical advancements, and essential skills. These efforts aim to improve educational outcomes, boost performance, and support national education indicators.
Mohammed Al Qasim, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education, stated, "The Ministry's Specialised Training Week focuses on developing educational professionals by enhancing teaching strategies, adopting innovative methods and equipping educators with digital skills to leverage modern tools."
Al Qasim added that the initiative encourages research and development while improving practices at both institutional and national levels. It also provides a platform for teachers to exchange experiences, enriching knowledge and supporting sustainable educational improvement.
The Professional Development Department supervises the Specialised Training Week. They oversee operational frameworks for analysing training needs of educators and school leaders while developing professional training plans based on performance indicators.
Assessment System Implementation
Al Qasim further mentioned their commitment to developing a comprehensive system for assessing the training needs of educational leaders and teachers. This system aligns with national and global professional standards to design programmes that enhance satisfaction, classroom performance, and student outcomes.
This structured approach ensures that educational professionals are well-prepared to meet modern challenges in teaching. By equipping them with necessary skills and knowledge, the MoE aims to foster an environment conducive to learning excellence.
