UAE Ministry Of Economy Engages Business Leaders In Future Talent Policy Discussions
The UAE Future Talent Policy Roundtable, organised by the Ministry of Economy and Integra Seven, convened key figures from essential economic sectors. This event provided a sneak peek into the forthcoming UAE Future Tech Talent Report 2024, slated for release in October. Attendees included business leaders and talent experts from notable organisations like Fragomen, Du, AWS, Coffeee.io, DP World, Dubai Knowledge Park, Dulsco Group, E&, HSBC, MCG Talent, Nabta Health, Standard Chartered, and Stripe.
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi underscored the necessity of public-private collaboration in policy development. He stated that such dialogue is central to advancing the national economic agenda. "Public-private dialogue is at the core of our approach to developing our national economic agenda. This roundtable on talent attraction is part of a series of important discussions that support our broader vision of crafting policies that ensure continued growth and diversification, advancing our ambitions to foster an economy based on knowledge and innovation."

The roundtable delved into several critical policy areas. A major focus was on the growing global competition for tech talent. Participants examined how the UAE's national brand plays a role in attracting international talent. They also discussed refining strategies to ensure ongoing access to specialised skills that align with the UAE's economic goals.
Natalia Sycheva from Integra Seven highlighted insights from the upcoming report. She noted its significance for business leaders and policymakers planning for future developments. "While the 2023 report identified key trends that have since been reinforced, the 2024 edition uncovers several new and, in some cases, unexpected developments. These will be critical for business leaders and policymakers to carefully assess as they plan for the future."
Senior executives explored methods to bridge skills gaps during discussions. They emphasised enhancing collaboration between educational institutions and industry sectors. The integration of both local and international talent into the UAE workforce was also a key topic.
The need for an adaptable approach to workforce development was stressed at the roundtable. Ensuring that the UAE remains competitive in the global tech talent arena is crucial. The discussions aimed at maintaining this edge through strategic planning and policy-making.
The anticipated UAE Future Tech Talent Report 2024 promises comprehensive insights for businesses and policymakers alike. It will provide detailed analysis and actionable recommendations regarding current and future talent landscapes in the UAE. This report aims to help maintain the nation's status as a leading hub for technology and innovation.
