Ministry Of Community Empowerment Launches Housing And Academic Excellence Allowances For Beneficiaries
The Ministry of Community Empowerment has introduced the Housing Allowance and Academic Excellence Allowance for Higher Education. These are vital elements of the Social Support and Empowerment Programme's supplementary benefits framework. This initiative highlights the ministry's dedication to fostering a stable living environment and encouraging long-term investment in human capital among beneficiary families.
Students from beneficiary families are encouraged to pursue higher education through the Academic Excellence Allowance. This support is aimed at those who achieve exceptional academic results at university. The allowance for outstanding students has been increased to a maximum of AED3,200 per month. It is available only to high-achieving students enrolled in accredited UAE higher education institutions, provided they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0.

Aligned with the UAE’s digital transformation goals, the ministry has launched an integrated digital platform. Beneficiaries can submit applications via the "My Files" section on the official website www.moce.gov.ae. The platform ensures that all complete applications are processed within 21 days, streamlining access to these allowances.
The system also includes special provisions for orphans and children of incarcerated individuals. This approach allows them to access allowances through a flexible and comprehensive method that considers their unique circumstances. Students engaged in remote learning through accredited UAE institutions are also eligible for the Academic Excellence Allowance, demonstrating the programme’s inclusivity and adaptability.
This allowance reflects the government’s commitment to investing in promising talent and strengthening national capabilities. By supporting high-achieving students, the initiative aims to enhance individual capabilities and create pathways toward self-reliance.
These supplementary allowances form an integral part of the ministry’s broader strategy for social empowerment. They represent a steadfast commitment to enhancing individual capabilities and creating pathways toward self-reliance.
